James Leaves Covendetta

February 10, 2011 | Filed Under News | No Comments

Since their first show (September 2008), Covendetta has struggled through countless member changes, including (but not limited to) 4.5 guitarists, 4 bass players, 3 screamers, 3 drummers, and 1 miscellaneous. Within that time, James Belliston (keys/vocals) was the only unchanged, original member of Covendetta. However, due to personal differences/disagreements, he has decided to leave the band. No further information has been released on whether or not Covendetta will continue to play shows.

For those of you who follow James‘ other projects, we will not suffer a shortage of shows. As of right now, his main focus is being shifted to his acoustic solo project, with the possibility of returning to the hardcore scene at a later time.

“I never thought the day would come that I would let this project go. With everything that we achieved, and everyone that we were fortunate enough to influence… there was always a reason to keep it going. But we live and we learn, and we realize that quitting is not always the same as giving up. That your dreams are worth more than the reward of selling out. And that you are the only one that knows your true potential. I may not ever become world-famous, but my passion for this is real, and nothing (short of my breath) will ever change that. I guess that’s what separates a musician from an artist. I want to thank everyone who has, and will continue to support me in my music. I can only hope that it will influence you, as much as you inspire me.”

- James Belliston

Members Needed

January 13, 2011 | Filed Under News | No Comments

Although expected, member changes are always a pain. And those of you who know our history, know that we’ve had more than our fair share of changes. Due to personal reasons, Darin Ferguson will no longer be playing bass with Covendetta. You may have also heard that our vocalist (screams) Justin Stanford is joining the National Guard, and will be absent for the next 6 months. He is planning to rejoin upon his return.

Over the next few weeks, we will be holding tryouts. We’re looking for a permanent bass player and a temporary screamer that meet the following requirements:

- Awesome
- Talented
- Good Gear
- Reliable Source Of Income
- Flexible Schedule
- Self-Motivated
- Responsible

We are willing to try out as many as needed, but please contact us ONLY if you are serious about pursuing this. It takes a lot of dedication, and a lot more work than we’re given credit for. But that’s what it takes, and we’re determined to make it happen.

CD RELEASED!!!

July 13, 2010 | Filed Under News, Recordings, Shows | 2 Comments

AFTER SHOW UPDATE:
After countless member changes, and months of progression, Covendetta has finally released their first EP, ‘SoundRaves And TechnoVision’. 6 tracks in all, the EP consists of ‘Only You Would Head Bang To The Sound Of The Ocean’, ‘Eye Of The Lyger’, ‘Even You Were Black And White In The 50′s’, ‘Last Week Jesus Beat Me At Video Golf’, ‘There’s A Jungle Cat In The Bathroom’, and ‘Be Responsible And Kill Your Zombie’. The release show was a huge success, and nearly 400 copies of the EP were given out. Borasca was not able to make it, so Augustine filled in, and kicked off the night.

For those of you who weren’t able to make it out to the CD release show, the album is NOW AVAILABLE on iTunes, ShockHound, Zune, TuneCore, BigCartel, and other online vendors. If you see us in your area, come pick up a copy for $5 at one of our shows. We will also be uploading the music video soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Upon hearing the album, you may notice there are several vocalists, varying from guitarist Ren Rigby (tracks 1, 2, 3, and 5), Drummer Jimmy White (tracks 1 and 5), and Guitarist Chris Lyons (track 5). Although in prior releases, keyboardist James Belliston was the primary singer, he sang tracks 4 and 6 only. We would love to hear any feedback that you may have regarding the album. Please comment.

ORIGINAL POST:
Huge news come in huge blogs. We probably should have built up a little more anticipation, don’t you think? I’m kidding… That’s sarcasm in it’s truest form (?)… Anyway, I want to be the first to apologize on the delay. We have been working day in and day out to make sure this extended production redefines the meaning of life as we know it… Or at least, accurately illustrates our undying belief in zombies (through metaphoric undertone, harmonic translucency, and the magic of drop D). But the waiting is over! The day is finally here! And to show our appreciation for all of your support and patience, we are GIVING EVERYONE FREE CDS!! There is a catch to all of this, however. The venue has a capacity limit… and it’s filling quick!!!! Contact us for tickets NOW, so we can ensure that you reap the benefits of this sweet deal. Hey, that’s not all! We will also be SHOOTING A MUSIC VIDEO, so bring your energy and let’s make you all YouTube famous! I want to see endless waves of crowd surfing, theoretically unsafe stage-diving… and what ever else comes as a side effect to completely insanity. I know that you’re full of untapped energy. I was front row, stage left for the Hilary Duff Wall Of Death. And that was amazing to say the least. Let’s sum up. #1 Awesome Bands, #2 Free Stuff, #3 Guaranteed Fame = ONE SWEET PARTY! But we need something from you. Help us get the word out! Myspace, FaceBook… the whole 9 yards. Send out texts, emails, Twitter it. Let’s make this THE BIGGEST PARTY OF THE YEAR!!
